SQU pays special attention to its disabled students, and in its pursuit to integrate the use of modern technology in the educational environment, a smart platform was created to provide several services to the students, helping them carry out their daily tasks with less time and effort.
Wosool application is one of the digital solutions designed by SQU in collaboration with Occidental Oman to provide essential services to the disabled students such as:
- Seeking assistance in getting study materials, such as searching for references in libraries, designing presentations, etc.
- Seeking mobility assistance within the university campus, whether accompanied by a person or using the vehicle.
The platform is based on voluntary work by engaging volunteer students and staff who have undergone specific training to offer the service. Beneficiary students may request the desired services through a smartphone application in which they can specify a service’s starting time, duration and delivery location.
The student can follow up the request and assess the quality of the provided services and the performance of volunteers. Volunteers can register their private cars in the application, which will be approved by the platform supervisors.
